Memorial Day camping

Wow, what a rugged trip. I got a speeding ticket right away in Tillamook. The 55 zone changed to 35 and I didn't see a sign and of course those cops were camping out ready to give out small town tax!!!
Anyway, it was rainy on Saturday and early Sunday, but we had a good time. Our tent held up pretty well. There were some leaks, but on the edges and we were able to contain it. The beaches are cold and rugged. I think we have enough of Oregon coast, need to move someplace warmer.

This is at the new Tillamook Forestry center

From the top of the fire lookout tower - we'll try to rent one of these sometime.

A typical Oregon vacation

Our campground is next to the beach near Waldport, central OR.

Our actual campsite is about 10 feet away from the 101 highway. The Forest service didn't put that on the brochure.

I put up tarp this time. Lesson of the trip - you can never have enough tarp for an oregon camping trip. One more over the tent would have helped.

Wierd little sailboat like creatures at the beach

Joe at the beach

Michelle making smores! Burn off some of those old woods.

Harrison Condo

A $500,000 view!

We went to look at the Harrison Condo Penthouse today - 26th floor. It is gutted right now, but the view is really nice. You can see the tower next door in the East view, that is the tower we are more interested in. That tower will have river view with no obstruction.

This below is the River view to the East.

This below is the Downtown view to the North.

Repaint and another view below.

circus de soleil

We went to see Circus De Soleil in April. They are from Canada and stop at only a few cities in the US. They do a lot of acrobatic, it was fun. Here I am with some hats. 8)

heroscape

Hey, I got a new board game - Heroscape. It was on sale buy 1 get 1 free at Fred Meyer. Now I need Nik and Nok to play with. When are you guys coming to visit?

garage door

Doh! garage door problem. The cable on the left side broke and the the door is not on straight anymore. I got a guy to come fix it and it cost $100. Hopefully it will be good for a long time now.

Hobi cat

We got a new cat name Hobi. She is 6 years old, but she is smaller than Zoey and Lily.
She is really cute, but pretty hissy right now. She was an only cat before so this is the first time mixing with other cats and she is having some issues.

Portland Beaver

Saturday - yes!
We got a two for one deal on a Portland Beaver game so we decided to go find a happy hour before the game. Masu a Japanese restaurant was recommended by the Oregonian. I'm going to have to rethink this recommendation list. This place wants to be a cutting edge, drink, party type of place, but the food is decidedly underwhelming (for me, michelle liked it.)
- Agadashi tofu - this is my Japanese food measuring stick - they used hard tofu and the dashi was not flavorful at all. This alone tanked the restaurant for me.
- other stuff was ok - seems expensive to me.

Portland Beaver game at the PGE park.

This has been on our todo list for a while. Portland lost 4-2, our team was pretty bad. They can't hit. After the game they shoot off fireworks right next to the MAX platform. That was pretty cool, to have fireworks going off right overhead, but a lot of ashes falling down on you.

Sunday - stay home and rest.
