First August Weekend

The first weekend of August was quite busy. There are a bunch of stuffs to do in the summer and August starts off with a lot of fun.

Saturday:
First stop, our beautiful downtown Library to drop off dvds and get some new books.

Next stop: PSU. This is IONE plaza, we lived here for one year in a one bedroom apartment. They are redoing the courtyard, put in a water feature, and raised the rent quite a bit.

The Benson House, this is the PSU alumni association office.
Saturday market, right in the middle of PSU. Freshly caught Salmon for a pretty good price.
berries
artichokes
A great dane, what a big dog!
$10 for 5 pounds of blueberry, a good deal. We ate almost half of the bag already in 2 days, just eat them fresh, yummm...
fava beans, what do you do with them???
Iranian Festival, next to Farmer market.

Our lunch break: babaganush (smokey and creamy, best I've had in a long time), Kildobeh (?) lamb and beef kabob sandwich, and top off with a mint yogurt soda, good good good.....
A guy complaining about Iran's President Arminijad. The poster said - The next Hitler.
That Arminijad is a nut job.
The PSU library.

Random kid with random art work.
I just got new Dr. Martens shoes on clearance sale - $30.
Joe Cool. :)

Redbull Flugtag came to Portland this year. Tons of people come from all area to see the show, tons of boats on the river.

Sunday:
We went out to the old house to mow the lawn. The renter left so we have to take care of the lawn for a bit. We'll get a new renter next Friday though so all is well.
Went food shopping and came home, had lunch, then went out around our condo to take some pictures of Michelle in her new giraffe dress.
This is in Pettygrove park, right next to our condo.
The sculpture is "The Dreamer."

Looks kind of like Snoopy, the dog from Peanut comic (the sculpture, not me.)

The Lovejoy fountain in the Lovejoy park across the street. Pettygrove and Lovejoy are two of the city founder, they flipped a coin to have the right to decide between Boston and Portland. Pettygrove was from Maine and he won.

Crocs (the shoes) are good for something. :)Random sculpture next to the American Plaza condo near us.
suck it in. :)

Michelle likes her new dress!
